04 Operation Dignitas by dodgemxfreedownload

Music makes up a big part of what we do at Sacred. Local bands are our soundtrack to our summer, winter, autumn and spring. They help fuel our adventures with sounds that push us on when we hit the wall.

Dodgem X is one of our fav South Wales bands, we love their energy. Go check them out, download their albums and add them to your soundtrack.

Cheers

Inspirational read

I recently came across this book by American writer Christopher McDougall. It's a cracking read for any one with a casual or keen interest in running. Insightful, and gave a few explanations to questions about my own love/ hate relationship with running.

It's so good in fact I'm reading it again. A well told story, an epic adventure in search of a simple answer and backed up with loads of facts, with a fair bit of anthropology thrown in too.

Check it out! Even if you don't run its still an insightful read.

How we process our custom clothing

Just thought we'd give you a little insight into how we put our Ts/ hoods together.

First step is the idea. We take influence from the things we like to do and using a mix of hand drawn or computer generated design, we come up with an outline of our graphic.

Once we are happy with the graphic we then chose the medium that will give the best finish. We a variety of processes from hand screen printing to sublimation and vinyl or printed vinyl depending on the look we want to achieve.

For single colour graphics we have the option of screen printing or if we want a more textured finish we will use a high end graphic.

The image is prepared for vinyl cutting and excess weeded from the finished graphic

Once the graphic has been weeded, with all access removed its then ready for pressing. We use an A3 clam shell press to apply our vinyl or sublimation graphics.

After the graphic has been heat pressed onto the T its fully bonded to the surface

Using high grade vinyl gives us lots of finish options, extending the range of t's/ hood graphics we can finish our products with.

To buy T's head to our website www.sacxredadventure.co.uk and click the link to our shop.

Keep Calm the T's are coming.

So with the queens jubilee coming up and a great summer for sport in the UK, we have thrown our bags up and jumped on the back of the bandwagon. We've been working on a number of Ts for this historic summer.

The t's will be available from our shop shortly.

Thursday is bike day

Tomorrow will kick off a regular weekly solo ride and give me a chance to increase my leg miles before the summer kicks in.

The big focus is on miles, miles, miles. Oh and solo. Its a there and back tomorrow, Cardiff to Brecon and back but its been a while since I put in some big miles, so it could be a push. Plus the forecast for tomorrow isn't great but that doesn't bother me too much if things go well.

It's a summer of big enduro rides, with a plan to solo Wales national cycle route 4 from st davids to newport.

Once the legs are solid, I dare say Sacred will be at a few enduro events across the south this year.

Big days ahead.

Summer build up

It seems a little crazy, what with the arctic weather that's put a layer of snow and ice down across the UK, to be mentioning a build up to summer but its important to get things in motion a season in advance.
In readiness of what will be our first summer of trading, we are working flat out on about a million different aspects of the biz.
Website is coming along so keep checking back to WWW.sacredadventure.co.uk or either our twitter or Facebook page for updates.
Anyone who likes us on FB from uk will get chance of winning one of our custom made Sponchos.
As the Tribal Head I've planned in a break from the day job from April giving me 3 solid month to focus on the Summer 12 build up.
We have much planned and lots already in the pipeline.
Our Purebreed bikes project will be showing on FB soon.
Plus our Sacred surf range and Adventure Race Series Ts will be online to buy shortly.
Coming soon our range aimed at Urban athletes, Street artists and city dwellers will be launching.
There is so much going on make sure you don't miss it.

First big un of 2012

Last Sunday kicked off 2012 good

and proper with a solo ride

of Afan forest's The Wall trail.

Despite a later than planned start,
 lack of working back disk,

pea soup fog and overly muddy sections

it was a great days riding.

I loved every lung busting minute.

It did make me realise though, I've been off the bike too long.

Quiet times

You may have noticed

our blogs have been a bit sparse.

Our focus

 has been on other areas

but we have lots planned for

2012

so

keep checking back.
